November 16th 2005 Nick was diagnosed with type one diabetes. March 11th 2007 he announced it at a carnival for a cure event. Ever since the day nick rose his hand at that event he became a hero, not only to diabetics but to many other across the world. Some may think he talks about it to much, or he uses it for publicity. But with every honest bone in body i believe this boy raised his hand that day to help others. August 6th 2008 nick became ambasidor for bayer diabietes care, he also testified in the U.S. Senate to promote more research funding for the condition. It may be a condition people can live with, but it’s still a disease, it still affect their every day life. To stand up at the age of fifteen as a spokesperson for that, not only makes him a hero in my eyes but it also makes him extremely brave. I will always be proud of nick for raising his hand that day, and for everything he’s done since.

Jonas Alphabet - A - A little bit longer
“You know sometimes in life you face moments that are harder than others. I faced a moment like that about four years ago when I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was scared, I was worried that my dreams that I had would not be able to come true. But when I was on my way to the hospital that night I made a commitment to myself that I wouldn’t let it slow me down. And I’m here tonight to tell you that it hasn’t slowed me down. So when that moment comes, when you need to press on the midst of hard times. I wanna encourage you with these words tonight: don’t you ever, ever let it slow you down because I believe in you and I wanna thank all of you for believing in me”
♥ love him so much
